    • A novel process for preparing spherical carbon microballoons is disclosed. In this process, a pitch is admixed with a low-boiling organic solvent to form a pitch-solvent mixture; the pitch-solvent mixture is pulverized and flash heated at a temperature higher than the boiling point of the low-boiling organic solvent to form hollow, spherical carbon microballoons; and the carbon microballoons are rendered infusible and then sintered. The formation of hollow, spherical carbon microballoons at high yield is enabled by using a particular pitch containing 40 to 65% by weight of benzene insoluble components and up to 0.1% by weight of quinoline insoluble components, and having a softening point in the range of 60.degree. to 320.degree. C.

    • An image heating apparatus includes: a first heater, having a nip through which a sheet passes, for heating toner image on the sheet; a second heater, having a nip through which the sheet passes, capable of heating the toner image on the sheet having passed through the first heater; a changer for changing the feeding speed of the sheet of the second image heater; two detectors for detecting the amount of slack of the sheet at one and the other ends of the sheet when the sheet is nipped by both of the nips; an adjuster adjusting the distance between the first and second heaters at the one and the other ends; and a portion for executing a correction mode when the amounts of slack detected by the detectors are different from each other, so that after the adjuster reduces the distance, the feeding speed is controlled.

    • The invention provides an electrostatic capacity type touch sensor that is not influenced by a parasitic capacitor formed between a sensor line connected to a touch sensor pad and other signal line and provides a stable sensor output. A sensor line connected to a touch sensor pad is connected to a non-inverting input terminal (+) of a charge amplifier. An LED is disposed in the touch sensor pad, and the cathode of the LED is connected to an LED signal line. Since the LED signal line is disposed adjacent to the sensor line, a parasitic capacitor is formed between the LED signal line and the sensor line. In order to keep the capacitance of this parasitic capacitor constant, a pull-up resistor is connected to the LED signal line. The LED signal line is biased to a power supply potential Vdd by the pull-up resistor.
