    • A speed-control drive circuit for a D.C. brushless fan motor includes a pulse width modulation input end for receiving an external pulse width modulation signal for controlling (and changing) the motor speed, and a motor winding drive circuit. The motor winding drive circuit and the pulse width modulation input end are connected to a set of motor windings. The pulse width modulation signal controls the motor winding drive circuit to cause excitation/unexcitation of the set of motor windings and to alternately changes a direction of current such that the set of motor windings adjusts a speed of the fan motor in response to excitation of the set of motor windings responsive to the pulse width modulation signal. The speed of the fan motor increases when an operational period of the pulse width modulation signal increases, and the speed of the fan motor decreases when the operational period of the pulse width modulation signal decreases.

    • A single-phase motor comprises a [US79KUA] two-phase motor driver IC, a conversion circuit, and a coil for a motor. The driver IC includes two outputs that are serially connected to the conversion circuit and then connected to the coil. The conversion circuit includes two transistors respectively connected two ends of the coil. The outputs of the driver IC respectively send out alternate on/off signals to respectively turn the transistors on and off, thereby controlling directions of current passing the coil. Thus, the coil generates alternative magnetic fields as a result of alternative directions of the current to thereby drive the rotor.

    • A supporting structure for a rotor comprises two holding members, a supporting member, and a fixing member that is fixed in place. Each holding member comprises a hole and an inner flange formed on an inner periphery defining the hole. The supporting member comprises a supporting portion and the fixing member has a hole. An end of a shaft of a rotor extends through the holes of the fixing members with an end face of the shaft resting on the supporting portion of the supporting member. A retainer is engaged in a retaining groove of the shaft to thereby retain the shaft in place. The shaft and the inner flanges of the holding members have a minimum gap or a slight contact therebetween.

    • A D.C brushless motor includes a housing, a circuit board, a balance plate, a stator, a rotor, and a magnetically non-inductive member. The housing includes a compartment, and a bottom wall that defines the compartment includes a tube seat formed thereon for engaging with an axle tube of the stator, which, in turn, receives a rotational shaft of the rotor. The rotor includes a permanent magnet mounted to an inner periphery thereof. The balance plate includes a fixing hole so as to be mounted around the axle tube of the stator, wherein there is a gap between an inner periphery defining the fixing hole and the axle tube. The balance plate is made of magnetically inductive material such that the balance plate and the permanent magnet attract each other. The magnetically non-inductive member avoids contact between the pole plate of the stator and the balance plate. In addition, the magnetically non-inductive member may include a flange inserted into the gap between the inner periphery of the fixing hole of the balance plate and the axle tube.
