摘要： A reflective laminate for use in fuel cell manufacture. The reflective laminate includes a polymer sheet and a reflective substrate having a reflectivity greater than 6% at each wavelength from 400 nm to 1000 nm removably adhered to the polymer sheet. The polymer sheet can include a polymer electrolyte membrane such as a perfluorosulfonic acid resin reinforced with expanded porous polytetrafluoroethylene. The reflective substrate can include a metal substrate (e.g., aluminum). The reflective substrate can reflect a portion of electromagnetic radiation traversing the polymer sheet. The portion of electromagnetic radiation reflected by the reflective substrate can be used to determine a characteristic or property of the polymer sheet (e.g., a size of the polymer sheet, a thickness of the polymer sheet, or a defect of the polymer sheet). A catalyst electrode can be applied to opposite sides of the polymer sheet to form a membrane electrode assembly (“MEA”).

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to injectable formulations that include biodegradable polymers based on trimethylene carbonate (TMC) with mole fractions of polylactic acid (PLA) and/or polyglycolic acid (PGA) that are used to deliver a bioactive agent to a targeted site. Excipients such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) may be added to the formulations to reduce the injection force and/or to modulate the release of the bioactive agent. Suitable biodegradable polymers for use in the injectable formulations include D,L-PLA:TMC, D-PLA:TMC, L-PLA:TMC, TMC:PLA:PGA and variations thereof. Additionally, copolymers of TMC and PLA and terpolymers of TMC:PLA:PGA may be formed into nanoparticles and delivered to the target site with an injectable crosslinkable polyethylene glycol system. In at least one embodiment, the injectable formulations are used to treat ocular diseases.

摘要： The over-the-wire interlock attachment/detachment mechanism includes a cylindrical lock receiving section of a small diameter attached to an implantable medical device such as a blood clot filter, a stent, or a septal occluder. This cylindrical lock receiving section has a plurality of spaced, curved cutouts to receive both the guide fingers and contoured locking fingers formed on a cylindrical locking section. The locking fingers are angled outwardly from the cylindrical body of the cylindrical locking section, and are moved inwardly into engagement with the curved cutouts of the cylindrical lock receiving section by a sheath which slides over the cylindrical locking section or other suitable operator.

摘要： Occluder devices for occluding an anatomical aperture, such as an atrial septal defect (ASD) or a patent foramen ovale (PFO) comprise two sides connected by a central tube. The occluder devices are formed from a tube, which is cut to produce struts in each side. Upon the application of force, the struts deform into loops. The loops may be of various shapes, sizes, and configurations, and, in at least some embodiments, the loops have rounded peripheries. In some embodiments, at least one of the sides includes a tissue scaffold. The occluder devices include a catch system that maintains its deployed state in vivo. When an occluder device is deployed in vivo, the two sides are disposed on opposite sides of the septal tissue surrounding the aperture and the catch system is deployed so that the occluder device exerts a compressive force on the septal tissue and closes the aperture.

摘要： Polyethylene tetrafluoroethylene) (ETFE) polymers having an average molecular weight of at least 300,000 g/mol and a melt enthalpy of at least 57 J/g are provided. The ETFE polymer may include at least one additional comonomer. The ETFE polymer is used to form a porous tape or membrane that has a node and fibril structure. A porous ETFE tape may be formed by lubricating the ETFE polymer and subjecting the lubricated polymer to pressure at a temperature below the melting point of the ETFE polymer. Optionally, the ETFE tape may be expanded at a temperature below the melting temperature of the ETFE polymer to form an expanded ETFE membrane. Alternatively, the ETFE polymer may subjected to heat and pressure without the addition of a lubricant to form a dense preform. The dense preform may be subsequently slit in a length direction and stretched to form a dense ETFE fiber.

In one embodiment, the system includes a delivery mandrel for preventing the occluder from moving in the proximal direction, a delivery wire for securing the occluder to the delivery mandrel and preventing unwanted movement in the distal direction, and a sheath for enveloping the delivery wire, mandrel and occluder. By moving the sheath relative to the occluder in a series of steps, the occluder opens first on a distal side and then on a proximal side, in a manner that holds the occluder in place.
