摘要： A developing apparatus prevents or reduces splashing of toner and carrier caused by abnormal outward airflows generated at downstream positions of a developing unit casing thereof through interactions between behaviors of magnetic brushes and local portions of the developing unit casing. The developing apparatus includes a developer carrying member, a first permanent magnet, a developing unit casing, a second permanent magnet, which is built in the developer carrying member at a fixed position at the downstream side from the first permanent magnet with respect to the rotational direction of the developer carrying member. The developing unit casing has a concave structure to form a low pressure area at a position facing the second permanent magnet. The low pressure area suppresses an increase in the speed of the airflow therein that causes the abnormal outward airflows.

摘要： An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes an image carrier. A rotary developing device adjoins the image carrier and includes a plurality of developing sections for developing a latent image formed on the image carrier with a magnetic developer. A toner cartridge unit includes a plurality of toner cartridges and is rotatable integrally with the developing device. A plurality of toner conveying device each connect one toner cartridge to the associated developing section and each include a toner passage and a toner conveying member disposed in the toner passage. A magnet adjoins a toner outlet, which is formed in the toner passage and communicated to the developing section, for forming a magnetic field that traverses the toner passage over the entire diameter of the toner passage. Toner stored in each toner cartridge is prevented from unexpectedly flowing into the associated developing section when replenishment is not effected.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus using dry toner, a toner replenishing device includes cleaning means for cleaning the sensing surface of remaining toner sensing means. The cleaning means is driven by the same drive source as agitating means for agitating the toner. To clean the sensing surface, the cleaning means is driven in a particular manner different from a manner for usual toner replenishment. While the cleaning means cleans the sensing surface, the output signal of the remaining toner sensing means is detected. The device achieves highly accurate toner concentration control and toner end detection at the same time.

摘要： A method of recovering carbon dioxide gas from the combustion exhaust gas of fossil fuel, using a combustion equipment, wherein fuel gas is supplied to an anode chamber of a molten carbonate fuel cell and oxidizing gas is supplied to a cathode chamber of the fuel cell, the combustion exhaust gas from the combustion equipment is suuplied to the cathode chamber as part of the oxidizaing gas, CO.sub.2 in the combustion exhaust gas is allowed to react with O.sub.2 in the oxidizing gas at the cathode to produce carbonate ion, which is allowed to pass through the electrolyte of the fuel cell and to reach the anode, which the carbonate ion is allowed to react with hydrogen in the fuel gas to produce CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 O, the anode exhaust gas containing CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 O generated at the anode is discharged from the anode chamber, H.sub.2 O is separated from the anode discharge gas and high-concentration CO.sub.2 gas is recovered.
