摘要： A storage area network (SAN) includes a plurality of digital data processors, each with a file system that effects access to one or more storage devices coupled to the SAN, for example, via an interconnect fabric. A process (e.g., executing on a manager digital data processor) responds to a file system over-extension notification from at least a selected one of the digital data processors, e.g., by assigning a further storage device to the selected digital data processor. The type of response is, more particularly, determined in accord with a hierarchically defined policy inherited, in whole or in part, from one or more hierarchical groups of which the digital data processor is a member.

摘要： Systems and methods for enabling universal remote access and display of diagnostic images acquired by diagnostic imaging equipment, independent of the identity of the vendor that manufactured the equipment. One system includes a local area network; a scanner capable of sending objects formatted in accordance with a communications protocol, each object incorporating at least one image frame; and a data capture device connected to the local area network and programmed with data capture software to capture an object originating from the scanner in response to that scanner being specified as an object of diagnosis. This system further includes a communications channel, e.g., a virtual private network, for connecting the data capture device to a central service facility. The preferred communications protocol is DICOM. In response to an instruction from the service center, the data capture device on the LAN captures image files from a malfunctioning scanner and forwards them to the service center for diagnosis.

摘要： A novel telephone call center agent monitoring and display system has a graphical user interface that allows a call center manager to automatically display a detailed multiple bar graph view of the status of particular agents currently engaged in agent activities specified by the manager for a duration also specified by the manager, the detailed view being linked to a composite view of the status of all agents being monitored by the manager. In the preferred embodiment, an agent status summary view displays in bar graph form, the collective statuses of all categories of agent status monitored by a call center manager corresponding to the longest time in the category for all of the agents monitored by the manager. If desired, the manager can “drill down” to a linked detailed view to display the duration of every agent currently in a chosen status category when the duration in that activity is within a time window chosen by the manager. Using a pointer device or simple keystrokes, the manger can generate a highlighted rectangular area on the summary view defining both the agent statuses of interest and minimum and maximum duration's of interest.

The piercing needle has a piercing tip and a tissue receiving port. A cutting member having a distal sampling segment is used with the piercing needle. The sampling segment has a cutting edge and a bore therein. The sampling segment is breakable from the cutting member. A tissue sample is acquired within the sampling segment of the cutting member after the tissue sample is taken at the tissue receiving port of the piercing needle. The sampling segment is removed from the piercing needle and the sampling segment containing the tissue sample is removed from the cutting member.

摘要： A client computer hosts a virtual private network tool to establish a virtual private network connection with a remote network. Upon startup, the virtual private network tool collects critical network information for the client computer, and sends this critical network information to an address assignment server in the remote network. The address assignment server compares the critical network information with a pool of available addresses in the remote network, and assigns addresses for use by the client computer that do not conflict with the addresses for local resources. The address assignment server also provides routing information for resources in the remote network to the virtual private network tool. The virtual private network tool will postpone loading this routing information into the routing tables of the client computer until the client computer requests access to a specific resource in the remote network. When the client computer requests access to a specific resource in the remote network, the virtual private network tool will only provide the routing table with the routing information for that specific remote resource.
