    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a urethane prepolymer composition bearing a terminal isocyanate group, which exhibits excellent adhesion to a molded article made of various plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate and the like when used as an adhesive and excellent in color tone, heat resistance, oil resistance and stability, and a reactive hot melt adhesive containing the prepolymer composition.
      SOLUTION: The reactive hot melt adhesive comprises a terminal isocyanate group-bearing urethane prepolymer composition, which is composed of a reaction product of a hydrogenated product (1) of a petroleum resin bearing an active hydrogen, a polymeric polyol (2) and a diisocyanate compound (3), or a terminal isocyanate group-bearing urethane prepolymer composition, which is obtained by reacting a polyol (4) constituted of a hydrogenated product (1) of a petroleum resin bearing an active hydrogen with a diisocyanate compound (3).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ether compound in a high yield by reacting a monoalcohol compound with a dihalogenated alkyl compound in the presence of a specific basic compound without using a solvent.
      SOLUTION: The compound is produced by Williamson synthesis comprising a reaction of (A) a monoalcohol compound (e.g. 1,6-heptanedien-4-ol) with (B) a dihalogenated alkyl compound preferably expressed by formula X(CH
      2 )
      n X (X is a halogen; (n) is ≥1) in the presence of a basic compound capable of converting the monoalcohol compound into a alcoholate (e.g. sodium hydride) without using a solvent preferably at a temp, of 80-90°C. The above process dispenses with a solvent-removal process and shortens the production process compared with conventional Williamson synthesis.

Then, the prepared copolymer is used as protective colloid, and an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of (meth)acrylic acid is polymerized in the presence of both a water-soluble polymerization initiator and a hydrophobic organic solvent by reversed phase suspension method, to give the aimed resin.
