    • An expansion tank to be connected to a pipe system filled or with a liquid is disclosed. The expansion tank includes at least one connection opening for a liquid pipe. The tank has a main valve to close off the connection opening at a defined difference in pressure between the interior of the tank and the connection opening and/or at a defined liquid level in the tank. The tank also has an additional valve for closing off a channel extending through the closure member of the main valve from the interior of the tank to the connection opening. The additional valve is closed during normal operation of the expansion tank and is open if the difference in pressure between the interior of the tank and the connection opening is higher than the original pressure in the expansion tank.

    • An electronic ballast provides dimming control, fault detection and safety features for overcurrent protection and hard switching at a half bridge. A voltage controlled oscillator supplies a switching frequency that is modifiable based on operational feedback parameters. A dimming control signal controls a phase shift between output current and voltage of the half bridge for controlling output power. A feedback circuit senses load current and output voltage to determine fault conditions and to provide control information for adaptively adjusting the frequency of the voltage controlled oscillator. By appropriately controlling the voltage controlled oscillator output, the electronic ballast maintains a zero volt switching with minimum current switching to achieve an efficient and robust electronic ballast control. The entire control function is integrated on a single integrated circuit.

    • The invention relates to a cable gland. The latter comprises a gland body for feeding a cable therethrough, an elastic sealing ring that is applicable to the front side of the gland body and whose internal diameter essentially corresponds to the diameter of the cable, and a gland ring that is applicable to the sealing ring on the opposite side of the gland body and is maintained by connecting means in an assembled condition at such an axial distance from the gland body that the sealing ring is clamped between the gland ring and the gland body so that its radially inner surface is pressed against the cable. These connecting means form a snap-on connection that is closable for the assembly of the cable gland by axially pushing together the gland ring and the gland body and that connects the gland ring and the gland body undetachably in their closed condition. A preferred field of application are encapsulated sensors having an enclosure into which a connecting cable is guided through a gland body of a cable gland that passes through the enclosure wall.
