    • A system for providing homecare to a patient, the system comprises a medical pump device (1) programmable to carry out an administration operation for administering a medical fluid to a patient. The medical pump device (1) comprises a pumping mechanism (13) for administering the medical fluid, a storage device (12) for storing programming information, a processor device (11) for controlling operation of the pumping mechanism (13) according to the programming information, and a reader device (10) for reading identification information of an identification mark (40) of a fluid container (4) containing medical fluid. A communication device (2) is in communication connection with the medical pump device (1) via a communication network (3). Herein, the communication device (2) is constituted to transmit a prescription data set comprising programming information associated with a particular medical fluid to the medical pump device (1), and the medical pump device (1) is constituted to receive said prescription data set and store the programming information contained in the prescription data set in said storage device (12), wherein the processor device (11) of the medical pump device (1) is constituted to load the stored programming information associated with the particular medical fluid from the storage device (12) to carry out an administration operation if identification information read by the reader device (10) relates to the particular medical fluid. In this way a system for providing homecare to a patient is proposed which in an easy and efficient, yet reliable way allows a patient to program a medical pump device for carrying out an administration operation.

    • A method for detecting an occlusion in an infusion line (3) connected to an infusion device (1) comprises: measuring a force (F) applied to a piston (21) by a pusher device (12) of an infusion device (1) for moving the piston (21) along a movement direction (X) into a cylindrical tube (20) in order to deliver a medical fluid from the cylindrical tube (21) towards an infusion line (3) connected to the cylindrical tube (20); calculating, from the measured force (F), a value indicative of a pressure (P) in the cylindrical tube (20), wherein for calculating said value indicative of said pressure (P) a frictional force value (F0) indicative of a friction of the piston (21) relative to the cylindrical tube (20) is taken into account; and comparing said value indicative of said pressure (P) to a threshold value to determine whether an occlusion is present in the infusion line (3). Herein, the frictional force value (F0) is determined using a mathematical model modelling the friction of the piston (21) relative to the cylindrical tube (20) in dependence on the position of the piston (21) relative to the cylindrical tube (20) along the movement direction (X) and in dependence on the velocity by which the piston (21) is moved relative to the cylindrical tube (3). In this way a method for reliably detecting an occlusion in an infusion line during an infusion process is provided.

    • An infusion device (1) for acting onto a tube set (2) to transport a medical fluid through the tube set (2) comprises a first housing element (10) constituted to receive a tube section (200, 201) of the tube set (2) and a second housing element (11) being movable with respect to the first housing element (10) such that, in a closed position of the second housing element (11), the first housing element (10) and the second housing element (11) are constituted to receive the tube section (200, 201) in between each other. Herein it is provided that the sensor device (3) is arranged on the first housing element (10) in an elastically displaceable manner, wherein the sensor device (3) is supported on the first housing element (10) via at least one spring element (33). In this way an infusion device is obtained which may be less prone to variations in the squeezing of a tube section in between the sensor element and a movable housing element, potentially reducing the effort for calibrating infusion devices and increasing the reliability of pressure measurements on a tube section.
