Further heattreatment of the matrix may be carried out after each use of the matrix.

    • 1419139 Electro-forming BUCKBEE-MEARS CO 2 April 1973 [28 Aug 1972] 15733/73 Heading C7B In a method of electro-forming an article on to a base, the base is held in a frame comprising a pair of facing members 10, 12 (e.g. of wood) having indentations 20, 22 to accommodate the base and gaskets 24, 26 defining surface areas for electroforming on either side of the base. Electrolyte enters the electro-forming area via openings 16, 18. The two members may be hinged at 14 and latched together. Copper conducting bars 30, 32 contact the base outside the gaskets via spring clips 37. Outer gaskets 28 prevent electrolyte reaching the spring clips 37. Conducting bars 30, 32 have hooks 34, 36 for hanging on a cathode bar. In Fig. 4 two bases 60, 61 are mounted back to back. The bases may be partially coated with a photoresist. The whole frame is immersed in an electrolytic bath.
