摘要： A method and system is disclosed for load balancing in a wireless communication system. The method has two major processes for load balancing purpose: the first process moves a mobile terminal from its host base station to some less loaded base station after the expiration of a switch time interval determined by the signal strength difference between the original host base station and the base station that the mobile terminal is moving to; the second process moves the mobile terminal from its host base station to the base station with the strongest signal strength periodically.

摘要： Techniques are provided herein to optimize up-link transmission power from a wireless terminal to a base transceiver station in a multicarrier system. A pathloss between the wireless terminal and the base transceiver station is determined. A determination is made if the pathloss is less than or larger than a predetermined value. One or more sub-carriers are assigned to the wireless terminal based on whether the pathloss between the wireless terminal and the base transceiver station is less than or larger than the predetermined value. A power cap command signal is sent from the base transceiver station to the wireless terminal for limiting a maximum allowable power transmitted by the wireless terminal to a predetermined level based on proximity of the one or more sub-carriers to an edge of a frequency band used for up-link transmissions made by the wireless terminal.

摘要： A system and method are provided for detecting locations of a customer premises equipment in a wireless communication system with one or more base transceiver stations and one is efficient. A plurality of antennas in a base transceiver station (BTS) receives signals transmitted from a customer premises equipment (CPE). A timing detection module extracts the timing offset from the receiving signals and a first calculation module calculates the distance between the BTS and the CPE based on the timing offset. A signal detection module detects magnitudes and phases of the receiving signals and a second calculation module determines a dominant beam according to the antenna pattern and calculates the direction of arrival of the dominant beam. A third calculation module calculates the location of the CPE relative to the BTS based on the distance and the direction of arrival.

First, in one or more cells, a plurality of frequency-time frames are generated each having at least one predetermined frequency-time open window unused for desired wireless communications.
