    • A solenoid valve capable of handling a corrosive control fluid and developing an increased attraction force. The solenoid valve 1 is adapted such that a fixed core is located in a wound coil 29 and protruding through the lower surface of the coil, a plunger 16 holding a valve sheet 17 is supported by a plate spring 18 under the fixed core, the valve sheet 17 is normally retained in contact with a valve seat 13 by spring force of the plate spring 18, and the valve sheet 17 is separated from the valve seat against the spring force of the plate spring 18 when the coil 29 is energized. The fixed core comprises two parts vertically coupled, an upper one of which is a first fixed core 26 located in the coil 29 in non-contact with the control fluid, the first fixed core being made of a material having high magnetic permeability, and a lower one of which is a second fixed core 27 fitted, protruding downward, in the coil bobbin to cover the lower end of the coil bobbin, the second fixed core being made of a material having corrosion resistance to the high-corrosive control fluid.

    • A banknote feeding apparatus 10 comprises a first kicker roller 16 configured to be in contact with a surface of one banknote of a plurality of banknotes stored in the banknote storage unit 101, and further configured to be continuously rotated; a second kicker roller 18 provided upstream relative to the first kicker roller 16 in a feed direction of the banknotes, and configured to be continuously rotated, in the same direction of rotation, at approximately the same peripheral velocity, as those of the first kicker roller 16; and a feed roller 12 adapted for feeding each banknote kicked by the first kicker roller 16. The first kicker roller 16 has a high friction unit 16a adapted for kicking each banknote and partly provided in the outer circumference of the first kicker roller 16. The second kicker roller 18 has a low friction unit 18a having a coefficient of friction lower than the coefficient of friction of the high friction unit 16a of the first kicker roller 16 and provided over the whole outer circumference of the second kicker roller 18. The outer-circumferential length of the first kicker roller 16 is set greater than a length in a feed direction of the banknote having the largest size of the banknotes to be fed out by the banknote feeding apparatus 10.
