    • The device serves for the treatment of fractures of the femur and comprises an intra-medullary pin (1) with a central longitudinal axis (2), a front piece (3), which may be introduced into the medullary channel of the femur, a rear piece (4) and a hole (5), going through the rear piece (4) at an angle to the longitudinal axis (2) with a non-circular cross-section (6). The device further comprises a sliding sleeve (10) which may be introduced through the hole (5) with non-circular cross-section, having a front end (11), a rear end (12), a central longitudinal drilling (13), an outer sleeve surface (14), an inner sleeve surface (15) and a longitudinal axis (16). Furthermore, the device comprises a longitudinal bone fixation element (20) with a longitudinal axis (21), a head piece (22) with fixation means (23), which may be brought into engagement with the femur head on use and a shaft (24), which may be introduced co-axially into the sliding sleeve (10), whereby the outer sleeve surface (14) of the sliding sleeve (10) has a non-circular cross-section (17), at least in a partial region. The inner sleeve surface (5) of the sliding sleeve (10) comprises a round cross-section (18) and fixation means (30) are provided for the selective blocking of the rotation of the longitudinal bone fixation element (20) in the sliding sleeve (10).

    • The invention relates to a device for treating femoral fractures, comprising A): an intramedullary nail (1) having a central longitudinal axis (2) and a passage (5), which passes through the rear portion (4) of the nail (1) diagonal to the longitudinal axis (2) and which has a noncircular cross-section (6); B) a slide bush (10) that can be guided through the noncircular passage (5); C) a longitudinal bone fixation element (20) having a head part (22) with fixation means (23) that, when in use, can be brought into engagement with the femoral head, and with a shank (24) that can be coaxially inserted into the slide bush (10), whereby; D) the outer lateral surface (14) of the slide bush (10) has a noncircular cross-section (17) at least in one partial area; E) the inner lateral surface (15) of the slide bush (10) has a noncircular cross-section (38) at least in one partial area; F) the shank (24) is rotationally mounted in the longitudinal boring (13) of the slide bush (10), and; G) blocking means (30) are placed at the free end (27) of the shank (24) so that the rotation of the longitudinal bone fixation element (20) can be either blocked in a positive manner or deblocked relative to the slide bush (10).
