The case may include indicators based on independent variables associated with physical characteristics of the implant, including leg length, offset, and anteversion. During surgery, the surgeon may be confronted with a need to change a preoperatively-chosen modular neck. For example, the surgeon may desire a change in at least one of the variables, e.g., leg length, offset, and/or anteversion. The case allows the surgeon to quickly and easily select a different modular neck based on an evaluation of one of the variables without requiring reevaluation of the other variables. A method described herein may include preoperative planning in which a template including a grid coordinate system is used, which advantageously provides an intuitive system for the surgeon both preoperatively and during surgery.

摘要： The present invention relates to provisional prosthetic components for a medical device and the surgical methods for utilizing the same. In one embodiment, the provisional prosthetic component includes a first portion and a core. The first portion is capable of mating with another prosthetic component. The first portion of the provisional prosthetic component may have a scratch hardness which is less than the scratch hardness of the prosthetic component. This allows for the first portion to be placed in mating engagement with the prosthetic component without scratching or damaging the junction of the prosthetic component. Additionally, the core of the provisional prosthetic component may have a scratch hardness greater than the scratch hardness of the first portion of the provisional prosthetic component and/or a stiffness sufficient to minimize deflection of the provisional prosthetic component during trial reduction and range of motion testing.

摘要： A boat mooring device adapted to secure a watercraft to a mooring post with a rope. The device includes a rigid member forming a loop circumscribing a central opening. A passageway for receiving a rope within the rigid member extends between first and second ports. The rigid member prevents direct contact between the mooring post and a rope positioned within the passageway. A locking member moveable between first and second positions is disposed on the rigid member. In the first position, the locking member allows sliding movement of the rope through the passageway in a first direction from the first port toward the second port and inhibits sliding movement of the rope in a second direction from the second port toward the first port. In the second position, the locking member allows sliding movement of the rope in both the first direction and the second direction.
