    • A vascular closure system (10) includes a body portion (12), an anchor (14), at least one suture member (82), and a plurality of needles (18). The anchor assembly includes a hub (16) and a wire assembly (60,61,62). The hub has at least one aperture (86) defined in a side- wall thereof. The wire assembly includes an actuator member (60) extending proximally through the body portion and hub, and at least one pre-formed wire having a free proximal end and a distal end that is connected to the actuator member. Withdrawing the actuator member extends the proximal end of the at least one pre-formed wire out of the at least one aperture to capture a portion of the vessel wall between the pre-formed wire and the body portion. The plurality of needles extend through the vessel wall adjacent to the vessel puncture and are configured to connect to the at least one suture member.

    • A vascular closure assembly is configured to seal a vascular puncture in a vessel. The vascular closure assembly includes a balloon location device and a sealant delivery device. The balloon location device includes an inflation tube and an inflatable balloon positioned at a distal end of the inflation tube and operable, when inflated, between a first position blocking blood flow through the vessel and a second position sealing the puncture from within the vessel. The sealant delivery device includes a sealant delivery tube having a first lumen sized to advance over the inflation tube to the puncture, and a second lumen configured to deliver a volume of sealant to the puncture. The first lumen may include a rapid exchange feature.

    • A vascular closure system includes a suture (204) and an anchor assembly. The anchor assembly includes a first anchor portion (240) having, a plurality of petal members (260) automatically expandable from a retracted position for delivery through a vessel puncture in a vessel, and an expanded position when deployed within the vessel. The anchor assembly also includes a second anchor portion (242) connected to the suture and positioned distal of the first anchor portion within the vessel. Withdrawing the suture pulls the second anchor portion against the first anchor portion to contact the first anchor portion against an inner surface of the vessel (129) adjacent to the vessel puncture. The vascular closure system may also include an automatic compaction assembly that automatically compacts a sealing member (210) against the anchor assembly to seal closed the vessel puncture upon withdrawal of the vascular closure system.
