    • A switching mode power supply apparatus includes a main transformer converting DC voltage of a predetermined amplitude supplied from a voltage source into DC voltage of a different amplitude; an auxiliary transformer operated by receiving current flowing in a primary winding of the main transformer; a first semiconductor switching element turning on/off an LED array that is driven by receiving voltage from a secondary winding of the auxiliary transformer; and an auxiliary circuit disposed in an LED control circuit unit including the LED array and the first semiconductor switching element, wherein the auxiliary circuit distributes current flowing in the first semiconductor switching element so as to reduce heat generated in the first semiconductor switching element.

    • A power supply device may include an insulating DC/DC converter unit including a primary winding and a secondary winding magnetically coupled to the primary winding, and inducing a voltage in the secondary winding in a first direction or a second direction, and a boosting unit.     • A power supply apparatus and a method of controlling the same. The power supply apparatus includes a DC/AC converting unit; a transformer; a AC/DC converting unit; and a loss compensating unit disposed before an inductor in a secondary side output stage of the transformer and compensating for power loss due to the inductor in a light load condition. The loss compensating unit is a circuit comprising a capacitor and a semiconductor switch element connected in series. The semiconductor switch element is turned off in a load condition greater than a light load and turned on in a light load condition according to a control instruction from an external control unit. The method comprises the method comprises supplying current to a load through an output stage of the AC/DC converting unit; detecting voltage across the load to determine whether the load is a light load; if the load is greater than the light load, supplying power to the load, with a semiconductor switch element of the loss compensating unit turned off; and if the load is the light load, supplying power to the load, with the semiconductor switch element of the loss compensating unit turned on.

    • A power supply apparatus includes a master circuit part charging a snubber capacitor initially and supplying power to a load under a light load; and a slave circuit part having a common output terminal with the master circuit part and supplying power to the load under a heavy load along with the master circuit part by distributing the load between them, wherein each of the master circuit part and the slave circuit part has the respective snubber capacitor that is chargeable and dischargeable at a secondary side of a transformer thereof. By doing so, power loss in a system can be reduced and efficiency under a light load improved.
