    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate various troubles arising from spraying of concrete executed at the rear side of a tunnel boring machine by providing efficiently a layer of lining by means of spraying concrete at the wall surface immediately after excavation executed at the front drum-side of the tunnel boring machine. SOLUTION: After excavation is made in a specified length for a tunnel with a rotary cutter plate 3 of a tunnel boring machine, an opening-shutting door 9 at an opening 7 between rib plates 20 and 20 provided at the outer circumference at the rear side of the cutter plate 3 is opened, and a thick support layer C' is formed by spraying concrete to the excavated surface T with a spraying nozzle 8 inside the opening 7 moved back and forth and with the cutter plate 3 being turned. The support layer C' is cut and trimmed to a fixed thickness with a trimming bit 10 provided at the rear end edge of the openingshutting door 9 and projectable when the opening-shutting door is opened, and rebound of concrete, fragments of fallen rocks and cutoff pieces of concrete are scooped up through the opening 7 together with mucks by the rib plates 20 and are thrown into a discharging device.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of set accelerating agent consumed and improve together the initial strength and long term strength of mortar by mixing liquid set accelerating agent and powder set accelerating agent with mortar directly before a spray nozzle, and spraying it to the drilled natural ground. SOLUTION: A powder set accelerating agent is slurried and pneumatically force-fed by air through a piping B, a liquid set accelerating agent made of aluminate alkali water solution or aluminium sulfate water solution is fed by air through a piping C, the two sorts of set accelerating agents are mixed at a set accelerating agent confluent part 4, it is mixed with mortar forcedly fed through a piping A at a mortar confluent part 5, and the mixture is sprayed to the natural ground after being drilled through a spray nozzle 1. The liquid accelerating agent improves the initial strength of mortar directly after spraying, and the powder accelerating agent improves the long term strength of mortar. Consequently, in a small section tunnel such as a headrace of diameter of 2-5 m, the mortar is sprayed into thickness of 2-4 cm, the natural ground can be stabilized immediately after being drilled, and the quantity of the accelerating agent consumed can be reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an overlaid layer with a constant thickness efficiently with pneumatically-applied concrete as timbering for wall surfaces, on wall surfaces immediately after excavation in a side ahead of a tunnel boring machine and eliminate various bad effects of pneumatically-applied concrete in a side behind the tunnel boring machine. SOLUTION: A large diameter tunnel of a constant length is excavated by an excavation blade 14 protruding in the front of a rotary cutter plate 3 and an excavation blade 17 protruding in the circumferential edge in the diametrical direction in an extensible manner by advancing the front body section 1, after the rear body 2 of a tunnel boring machine is supported on an already-constructed concrete overlaid layer C' through a rear gripper 6. And then, after the front body section 1 is retreated, with a spray nozzle 7 protruded from the opening 20 of the cutter plate 3, the thick concrete overlaid layer C is sprayed to the excavated wall surface T of a tunnel. And then, by advancing the front body section 1 while adjusting the length of protrusion of the excavation blade 17 provided in the circumferential edge of the cutter plate 3 and turning the cutter plate 3, the concrete overlaid layer C is reshaped to a concrete covered layer C' with a constant thickness that is a flat in the inside perimeter, by the excavation blade 17.

SOLUTION: After a rear drum 2 of a tunnel boring machine is held with a rear gripper 6 to a layer of concrete lining previously constructed, excavation is made for the tunnel with a rotary cutter plate 3 with a front drum 1 moved forward, and a thick layer of lining is formed with concrete sprayed through an opening 10 between rib plates 20 and 20 provided radially at the outer circumferential part at the rear side of the cutter plate 3 to an excavated wall surface T from the inside of the front drum 1 with a spraying nozzle 7 by turning the nozzle in reciprocation in the circumferential direction. The layer of lining is cut and trimmed to a fixed thickness with a trimming cutter 11 provided in projection at the rear end of the opening 10, and rebound of concrete, fragments of fallen rocks and cut-off pieces of concrete are fallen through the opening 10 and scooped up together with mucks by the rib plates 20 and thrown into a discharging device.

Concurrently with the construction, the concrete overlaid layer C is reshaped to a concrete overlaid layer C' with constant thickness that is flat in the inside perimeter by the excavation blade 17 of the cutter plate 3 adjusted in a direction that reduces the diameter of the excavation blade 17 by a certain length by advancing the front body section 1.
