    • The specification and drawings present a new method, system, apparatus and software product for carrier frequency shifting in mobile communication systems, e.g., for eliminating or reducing interference, e.g., for a communication between a mobile station and a network element. The communication between the mobile station and the network element may be performed within a GSM/EDGE radio access network. A signal (e.g., a DSR or MDSR carrier) and at least one further signal (e.g., a speech carrier) are identified, wherein bandwidths of the signal and of the at least one further signal overlap. Then, a frequency shift for said signal may be determined according to a predetermined criterion and a carrier frequency of the signal may be shifted by the determined frequency shift, e.g., for eliminating or reducing the interference.

    • It is provided a solution for controlling interference in a cellular telecommunication system. An interference controller of the cellular telecommunication utilizes interference level information received from another cellular telecommunication system in controlling interference towards a target cell suffering from high interference which degrades the grade of service in the target cell. The interference level information comprises information on levels of interference between neighboring cells of the other cellular telecommunication system. The interference controller analyzes the received interference level information and controls communication links in cells of the cellular telecommunication system determined to cause the highest interference towards the target cell. The cells determined to cause the highest interference towards the target cell are determined from the received interference level information.

    • A method of controlling a transmission power for a communication connection in a communication network is provided. The communication network comprises a user equipment communicating with the communication network, at least one transceiver station for providing a connection with the user equipment, wherein a serving transceiver station is provided for the user equipment, and a controller for controlling the at least one transceiver station. A connection value used at the communication connection between the user equipment and the serving transceiver station is determined, and on the basis of the determined connection value, power control parameters are adjusted wherein at least one change of power control parameters is possible between respective connection value ranges. A power control of the transmission power for the communication connection is executed on the basis of a comparison between the adjusted power control parameters and connection quality measurement results determined for the communication connection. Furthermore, a corresponding system and a corresponding controller are provided.
