      SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes a rotor, the stator (10) having multiple teeth (14), an insulator (15) covering the circumference of each tooth (14), and a conductor wound on the circumference of each insulator (15). The circumference of each tooth (14) on which a conductor is wound includes first surfaces (14a, 14b) parallel with the direction of the rotation axis of the rotor and second surfaces (14c, 14d) orthogonal to the direction of the rotation axis of the rotor. Each insulator (15) includes a first insulator (16) formed to cover the entire first surfaces (14a, 14b) and a second insulator (20) formed to cover the second surfaces (14c, 14d). An area where the two insulators (16, 20) overlap each other is located on the circumference of the first insulator (16).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotating machine, which improves a space factor of a stator winding, and also improves the performance of torque output from a rotating machine.
      SOLUTION: As the shape of a coil winding part 10 of an insulating bobbin with a stator winding wound therearound, the shape of a corner 13 for connecting a coil end 11 at which the end of the stator winding is located and a slot-side face 12 forming a winding slot of the stator winding, is formed into a curved shape which is formed by smoothly connecting a plurality of arcs whose radii are changed stepwise toward the slot-side face 12 from the coil end 11. For example, in a position near the coil end 11 of the corner 13, the arc r1 with a small radius is formed, while the arc r2 with a large radius is formed in a position near the slot-side face 12, and the arcs are joined to each other at the smooth curved face. More specifically, the shape of the corner 13 may be formed into a curved shape using an oval shape which corresponds to a shape in the case where the radius is consecutively changed.

A passage 12 for passing cooling liquid is provided between the neutral portion 4 and the insulator 5(6), and cooling liquid is supplied into the neutral portion 4 in order to cool the neutral portion 4 thus cooling the stator.
