    • PURPOSE:To determine exchange timing of the seal rubber correctly by a method wherein a detecting member, filled with colored liquid, is inserted into a seal for keeping air-tightness between a piston and a side plate. CONSTITUTION:The detecting member, formed by a vinyl pipe 35 and filled with the colored liquid 34, is inserted into the seal rubber 24, arranged between the piston 22 and the side plate 21, to a position, corresponding to the allowable limit of worn amount, from the sliding surface thereof . When the seal rubber 24 is worn out in accordance with the use of the gas holder and the worn amount has arrived at the allowable limit, the colored liquid 34 flows out of the end part of the vinyl pipe 35 along the side plate 21 and colors the side plate 21. According to this method, it is detected that the seal rubber 24 has been worn out to the allowable limit thereof, and whereby the exchange timing of the seal rubber 24 may be seized correctly.

    • PURPOSE:To determine exchange timing of the seal rubber correctly by a method wherein the holding member of the seal rubber is arranged with a horizontal scale member and a support member supporting the same scale member slidably in the widthwise direction of the holder. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal scale member 36 is fitted into a tubular horizontal support member 35, secured to the upper end of a vertical rod 34, so as to be slidable in the widthwise direction of the gas holder. The horizontal scale member 36 is formed by a T-shaped member and rollers 37, rolling on side plates 21 respectively, are mounted on both ends of the bifurcated part 36a thereof. The horizontal scale member 36 moves along the horizontal support member 35 into the widthwise direction of the gas holder in accordance with the abrasion of the seal rubber 24, therefore, the worn amount of the seal rubber may be detected by reading the scale part 36b3 of the horizontal scale member 36.
