    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which can steplessly detect an inclined angle in the case of arranging the water tank such that the inclined angle can be freely adjusted, can freely set a desired inclined angle according to operating condition or others, and can be operated at optimal water tank inclined angle.
      SOLUTION: In the washing machine in which the water tank can be inclined, a male threaded portion 16 is formed in the upper portion of a hanging rod 5, the male threaded portion is threaded into a female threaded rotator 18 rotating in a drive section, thereby to make it possible to adjust a hanging length, a slide resistor 27 comes into contact with the outer peripheral face of the male threaded portion, and the inclined angle of the water tank is detected from the moving quantity of the male threaded portion detected from the change of resistance value detected by the slide resistor 27.

      SOLUTION: When a control part 71 activates a load drive circuit 72, a drive mechanism 31 rotates a working gear 32. Thereby a male screw 34 mating with a female screw of the gear 32 up/down acts to shift the hanging rod 4 in the same directions. Adjusting a rotational angle of the gear 32 to each of a plurality of the rods 4 inclines a water tub 5 hung by the rods 4. With rotations of the gear 32, pulse signals having the number corresponding to the rotational angle and generated by a magnet and a hole IC provided on the gear 32 are sent to the control part 71 via a pulse sensing circuit 74. The control part 71, when receiving no pulses from the sensing means even though activating the drive circuit 72 to shift the rods 4 in a target direction, judges the occurrence of the abnormality to conduct the operation stop or the alarm output.
