Magnification data set and inputted with ten-keys 80W89 is processed in the microcomputer 200 and outputted to a magnification display part 27, so the microcomputer 200 judges whether display code converted and input magnification data are within the magnification variation range of the variable power copying machine or not and stores the magnification data directly in the magnification data storage part 206 in a memory using a RAM in the microcomputer 200 when the data is within the power variation range. Further, automatic arithmetic is performed to calculate how many times a copy needs to be taken with desired magnification, thus easily taking a variable power copy.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the overheating of a fixing heater by allowing the fixing heater to stop operating by a fixing heater control means while inhibiting the fixing heater from starting operation while an exposure lamp is turned on. CONSTITUTION:An output port PH for high temperature setting is held at a level H and reference temperature is set high until copying operation is started and the exposure lamp 3 is turned on to start scanning an original. If the operation of the fixing heater 1 is stopped in the middle of the scanning, the inhibition signal generation output port P1 of a microcomputer 5 is held at the level H and then the operation of the fixing heater 1 is inhibited until the scanning is finished afterward. Further, when the fixing heater 1 is in an operation stop state at the start of scanning, the output port P1 of the microcomputer 5 is held at the level H on the start of scanning to inhibit the start of the operation of the fixing heater 1 until the scanning is finished. When the scanning is completed, the reference temperature is set high and the operation start inhibition state of the fixing heater 1 is reset.
