摘要： A tubular configured to mate with a second tubular so that sealing integrity is maintained between the tubulars before, during, and after expansion of the tubulars is disclosed. In one embodiment, a connector for connecting tubulars is provided. The connector includes a pin portion; a box portion, wherein the pin and the box portions are configured to mate; a sealing surface formed in an inner surface of the box portion; a seal disposed in a groove formed in an outer surface of the pin portion, wherein the seal is configured to engage with a sealing surface of the box portion upon mating of the pin and the box portions; and a bump formed on an inner surface of the pin portion, wherein the bump is substantially radially aligned with the groove and the bump is configured so that the seal remains engaged with the box portion during and after expansion of the pin and the box portions.

摘要： The present invention relates methods and apparatus for lining a wellbore. In one aspect, a drilling assembly having an earth removal member and a wellbore lining conduit is manipulated to advance into the earth. The drilling assembly includes a first fluid flow path and a second fluid flow path. Fluid is flowed through the first fluid flow path, and at least a portion of which may return through the second fluid flow path. In one embodiment, the drilling assembly is provided with a third fluid flow path. After drilling has been completed, wellbore lining conduit may be cemented in the wellbore.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to an apparatus for sealing a wellbore. The sealing apparatus includes an expandable tubular body having one or more sealing elements disposed thereon. In one aspect, the sealing elements include swelling and non-swelling sealing elements. Preferably, the swelling sealing elements are made of a swelling elastomer capable of swelling upon activation by an activating agent. The swelling elements may be covered with a protective layer during the run-in. When the tubular body is expanded, the protective layer breaks, thereby exposing the swelling elements to the activating agent. In turn, the swelling elements swell and contact the wellbore to form a fluid tight seal.

摘要： The present invention provides an apparatus and method expanding a portion of a tubular. The expansion apparatus is run into a wellbore on a working string. The expansion apparatus first comprises a rotary expander for expanding an expandable tubular. The expansion apparatus further comprises a spline assembly for coupling the rotary expander to a motor disposed on the work string. The rotary expander and spline assembly have hollow bodies that allow them to encircle the work string and rotate relative thereto. The spline assembly comprises an inner sleeve and outer sleeve. The inner sleeve is attached to the motor and the outer sleeve is attached to the rotary expander. The inner and outer sleeves are coupled to each other using a spline and groove connection. The connection allows the rotary expander to be rotated by the motor, while at the same time, allow the rotary expander to move axially relative to the motor. The rotary expander comprises two rows of rollers for expansion against the tubular. The position of the rollers on the first row is skewed in one direction relative to the longitudinal axis. The rollers on the second row are skewed in an opposite direction. When actuated, the skew angle of the rollers will cause the expander tool to move axially. Because the rollers of the two rows are placed at opposing skew angles, alternating actuation between the two rows of rollers causes the expander to move in opposite axial directions during expansion.

摘要： The present invention generally provides a running tool comprising a torque-dampening system. A first portion and a second portion of the running tool are operably related by a torsion interface. In one embodiment, the torsion interface includes a plurality of interlaced teeth disposed on the each of the first and second portions. During relative rotation of the first and second portions, the teeth engage and “ride up” on one another, thereby forcing the first and second portions in opposite axial directions. At least one of the portions houses a flow restrictor assembly adapted to restrict fluid flow from one region to another during the axial movement of the portions. Accordingly, the relative rotation between the portions is inhibited, or dampened.

摘要： The present invention relates methods and apparatus for lining a wellbore.
