    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-pressure discharge lamp in which a problem is solved that, when a low-pressure discharge lamp provided with a backlight unit is required to be made larger, a sealing means at an end portion of a bulb, a component member, is required to be provided with a charge/discharge tube at the sealing end portion in order to charge/discharge inside the bulb under an ordinary pressure if a bead sealing is changed into a squeeze sealing in view of a cost reduction and as a result, an introduction wire has to be made thinner and the introduction wire becomes unable to support the discharging lamp and a crack is likely to develop at a bulb end portion if the sealing means is changed into the squeeze sealing, when a mouth piece is fixed on the bulb end portion for supporting the discharge lamp. SOLUTION: The charge/discharge tube 31 necessitated when the squeeze sealing is introduced is extended from the sealing portion 32 and the extended part is wound by the introduction wires 25, 27, where the mouth piece is fixed.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus, a backlight unit and a liquid crystal television set to which the cold cathode fluorescent lamp can be attached and detached in a one-touch operation by reducing unevenness in luminance in a long direction of a lamp (both sides to the right and left inside an outside surrounding housing) in addition to reducing the number of inverters in an approximate U-shaped cold cathode fluorescent lamp and preventing damage in such as a sealing part of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
      SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus 50 is provided with; U-shaped lamp holders 15 and 16 retaining connection of outlines of power supplying terminals 104 and 105 installed on an outer periphery surface on both ends of the straight tube shaped cold cathode fluorescent lamp 100 and a lighting control circuit 60 connected to the lamp holders 15 and 16 and lighting the lamp 100. Each of a plurality of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps is arranged and retained approximately in parallel maintaining a specified spacing in between by the lamp holders 15 and 16. In addition, lamp holders 15 retaining one end in the power supply terminal 104 of two adjacent lamps 100 are connected together.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode discharge lamp provided with power supplying terminals on both ends of a glass bulb with cracking not easily occurring in the glass bulb, to provide a backlight unit with the cold cathode discharge lamp as a light source, and to provide a manufacturing method for the cold cathode discharging lamp. SOLUTION: The cold cathode discharge lamp is provided with; an electrode 22 composed of an electrode main body 23 and a lead wire 24, the glass bulb 21 composed by sealing the lead wire 24 to an end part in a state with the electrode main body 23 stored inside, and a power supplying terminal 30 installed outside an end part of the glass bulb 21 and electrically connected to the lead wire 24. The power supplying terminal 30 is provided with; a cylindrical conductor 31 which have openings on both ends having the glass bulb 21 end part directly inserted from one end to the middle and a connecting conductor 32 electrically connecting the lead wire 24 and the cylindrical conductors 31 in the remaining space in the cylindrical conductor 31.
