摘要： The present invention relates to an external heart device, having a layered band dimensioned to be received around a patient's heart, which also includes at least one fillable chamber between the layers in the band that functions to apply localized pressure to the outside of the heart when filled. More particularly, the fillable chambers are positioned such that they exert an inward radial force on a heart valve. Areas between the fillable chambers may also be sized and positioned to form a bridge of little to no pressure over the vascular structures of the heart.

摘要： The systems described herein include a CPAP system (100, 200, 400, 440, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 950, 1000) for providing positive air pressure to a patient. The system may include a tube with an inlet opening (102, 202, 402, 442, 502, 702, 702, 802, 902, 952, 1206), an expansion section (108, 212, 406, 452, 508, 610, 712, 806, 910, 964, 1006, 1200) with a gas flow generator or blower (110, 512, 614) positioned within the expansion section, and an outlet opening. The CPAP system may comprise detachable tube sections (1002, 1010, 1100, 1120, 1140) with an acoustically designed inlet port forming a low-pass frequency filter with an expansion chamber disposed in the expansion section. The systems and methods described herein provide improved mobility, comfort, and usability for patients. The application also discloses an attenuating noise tube section (506, 604, 706, 904, 954) with either an inlet (502, 602, 902, 952) that expands into a larger volume disposed within the attenuating noise tube section, or circuitous flow path within the attenuating noise tube section.
