    • In an airbag device (10) wherein within a casing (12) opening upwardly an inflator (16) and an airbag (14) are housed at its bottom part and the opening side, respectively, a cylindrical diffuser (18) surrounding the outer circumference of the inflator (16) is provided, which has a partition wall (40) projecting toward the opening side of the casing and partitioning an airbag-housing space into a forward side and a rearward side relative to the vehicle, in which to house the airbag (14) dividedly, and a lip portion (32) of the airbag (14) is superposed downwards of the diffuser (18) thereby to lock the bottom part of the diffuser (18) to the bottom surface of the casing (12). Thus, it is easy, albeit compart, to control the deployment behavior of the airbag and excellent in workability of assembling the airbag in the casing.

    • An air bag device has an air bag at least partially receivable in a predetermined receiving part of a vehicle along with an inflator for inflating the air bag. A band is breakable by a deployment pressure of the air bag and is provided such that at least a part of the air bag is strapped by the band to retain a folded shape prior to deployment of the air bag. The band is formed of a woven fabric in an embodiment and includes a breaking part formed by breaking assisting structure arranged in a line corresponding to a breaking direction of the breaking part. In an embodiment of the air bag device the woven fabric has weaving thread inclined at an inclination angle with respect to the breaking direction of the breaking part. A further feature provides a retainer including an attachment part for fixing the air bag to the inflator and the band including an insertion hole part formed therein through which the attachment part of the retainer and the inflator are inserted such that the air bag is strapped together with the retainer by the band.

    • An inflatable bag,for airbag restraint systems for a front seat passenger, of a quadrilateral prismoidal shape comprising a right-angled quadrilateral base portion adapted to face and receive the passenger by the extension of the bag upon deployment, a lip portion defining an opening for admitting gas from the system and adapted to be attached to a dashboard, upper and lower face portions, and lateral face portions having T-like or Y-like joints diverging from the lip to base portions and exhibiting a strap effect. The bag is made of a one-piece cloth, each outlining lateral side of which has longitudinally consecutive six sides of three triangular sections wherein two endmost sides and respective two adjoining sides have respectively an equal length, or longitudinally consecutive five sides wherein two endmost sides have an equal length and other two sides adjacent to the former have a total length equal to the length of a longitudinal side therebetween. When the cloth is longitudinally folded into two, the endmost sides are superposed and sewed together. Then, respective adjoining sides are superposed and sewed together, thus forming the Y-like joints and lateral face portions, or other two sides are superposed onto the longitudinal side and sewed together, thus forming the T-like joints and lateral portions, thereby shaping the prismoidal body, which is turned inside out to give the bag. The endmost sides may assume an arc-like line.

    • The present invention relates to an air bag device for a vehicle comprising an inflator, an air bag, an air bag case for storing these and an air bag door, in which the air bag and the air bag door are attached to the air bag case by inserting a retainer bar in a shape of a locking bar from a retainer addingly brought into contact with the inner side of a side wall of the air bag case through engaging loop portions penetrating the side wall of the air bag case, the air bag door and the air bag, and in which the air bag and the air bag door are attached to the air bag case. In the above air bag device, by improving a structure of a support portion for supporting the retainer bar inserted through the loop portions, projections of the air bag case are reduced, compact formation and light weight formation of a module is achieved and mountability, strength and economic performance are promoted. As means therefor, the retainer is installed with support pieces for the retainer bar projected from base portions of the loop portions, elastically pressing the retainer bar to tip portions of the loop portions and pinching and supporting the retainer bar between the support pieces and the front end portions of the loop portions in the loop portions.
