    • A tubular mould, having an upper end with an outer groove (9) for fitting U-shaped flanges (10) and an offset portion (5) for fitting a stiffening frame (6), is new. A tubular mould, which is tightly fixed at its upper end in a water header (2) and is stabilized against cooling water pressure in this region, has (a) an outer circumferential groove (9) spaced from the upper end face (3) of the tube wall (4) for engagement from opposite sides by inner ribs (11) of U-shaped flanges (10), the ribs being shorter than the groove depth; and (b) a peripheral offset upper end portion (5) on which a stiffening frame (6) can be tightly fitted for sealing against the tube wall (4) and against the flange (18) of the water header (2), the frame being fixed by screws to the U-shaped flanges (10) and being supported on the water header flange (18). An Independent claim is also included for a method of recalibrating the above tubular mould.
