摘要： A ratchet for a vehicle closure latch that mounts on a vehicle closure so as to engage and retain a striker mounted on a vehicle body when the vehicle closure is closed. The ratchet comprises a metal substrate and a plastic covering, the metal substrate having a primary latching tooth for engaging a pawl to retain the ratchet in a latched position and a striker tooth for engaging a striker when the ratchet is in an unlatched position, and the plastic covering having a bumper with a series of spaced apart cantilevered fingers to reduce the noise generated by contact of the ratchet with another portion of the closure latch, the fingers being joined to an integral base and being inclined with respect thereto.

摘要： The operating member of an uncoupling type vehicle door latch has a blocking portion which blocks movement of the coupling means to uncoupled position when the door latch is in unlatched position unless the operating member is first moved to an operated position. This requires the performance of multiple conscious actions by the driver in order to obtain keyless locking. The coupling means can be returned to coupled position by the locking means without operation of the operating member.

摘要： The vehicle door latch includes a housing having latch bolt rotatably mounted for engagement with a striker mounted on the door jamb. The door latch includes a detent mechanism adapted to establish the latch bolt in rotary positions to selectively latch the door in a primary closed position, to latch the door at a secondary door ajar position, and to unlatch the door at an unlatched position allowing door opening movement. The electrical switch includes a rotor rotatably mounted on the latch housing and carrying a first set of electrical contacts adapted upon rotary movement of the rotor to electrically connect with a second set of electrical contacts mounted on the latch housing. The rotor and the latch bolt each have gear teeth provided respectively thereon and meshing with one another whereby rotary movement of the latch bolt induces corresponding rotary movement of the rotor and thereby enables the switch mechanism to provide electrical signals corresponding to the various positions of the latch bolt.
