摘要： A smoke detecting chamber for use in a light-scattering type smoke detector is provided which includes a chamber cover that forms one side of the smoke detecting chamber. The chamber cover includes a plurality of first baffles that prevent external light from entering the smoke chamber. The smoke detector further includes a chamber base that forms another side of the smoke detecting chamber, the chamber base including a plurality of second baffles that intermesh with the first baffles when the smoke detecting chamber is formed.

摘要： An electronic heat detector provides a fire alarm with a rapid rate of rise of temperature. The rate of rise indication is obtained from a comparison of outputs from a first temperature sensor which responds rapidly to environmental temperature, referenced to a second temperature sensor which has an intermediate response between that of the first sensor and an electronics board. The second sensor is positioned within a protuberance from the heat detector housing.

摘要： A method and apparatus multiplexing multiple alarm and head type values in a peripheral fire alarm device includes a head component for sensing the presence or absence of smoke or heat and a base component for communicating with the control panel. A communication interface between the base and head components with no more than three connectors for multiplexing the values between the head component and the base component. The control panel stores algorithms particular to each type of head which may be used to determine if an alarm condition exists. Using data received from the peripheral fire alarm device, the control determines which type of head component is currently installed at the base component and selects the correct algorithm.

摘要： A device and method for facilitating convenient functional testing of a duct detector is provided. The device includes a duct detector having a remote-controlled test light mounted in a housing thereof, and a detector chamber defined by a filter screen and a plurality of labyrinth members that allow light emitted by the test light to enter the detector chamber. A functional test of the duct detector can be conducted by activating the test light. If the detector is functioning properly, an amount of light emitted by the test light will be detected by the light detector, thereby simulating the presence of an excessive amount of particulate within the detector chamber. The light detector will then generate an output signal that will cause the actuation of alarms and/or the deactivation of a blower system, thereby indicating functionality of the duct detector.
