    • PURPOSE:To permit the molding by a metal mold and reduce the production cost and improve the working efficiency by forming the inner wall surface of an intake distribution recessed part in the draining slope directed towards the joint surface with a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:An intake manifold 14 interposed between a carburetor 13 and a cylinder head 12 is shaped through diecasting by using a metal mold. A flat joint surface 19 is formed on the cylinder head 12 side of the intake manifold 14, and a flat installation surface 20 is formed on a carburetor 13 side, and a distribution passage 21 and a cooling water passage 22 are formed in parallel inside. The distribution passage 21 is constituted of an intake distribution recessed part 23 which has a rectangular sectional surface and is opened on the joint surface 19 and a connecting hole 24 which is opened onto the installation surface 20 from the bottom surface of the recessed part 23. The intake distribution recessed part 23 is formed in a draining slope in which the wall surface is directed towards the joint surface 19.

    • PURPOSE:To offset an inertia couple generated by means of a reciprocating mass as the weight of an engine is decreased, by a method wherein a balance weight mounted on the base end side of the arm part of a crank shaft is eliminated, and the balance weight is mounted to each rotary member. CONSTITUTION:A fan-shaped balanced weight 55 is mounted in the spot of a drive gear 41 located far side in a 90 deg. arc from the top dead center of a second cylinder 13-2, and a lunate balance weight 53 in the spot of a fly wheel cylinder part 33A located this side in a 90 deg. arc from the top dead center. Thus, an inertia force produced by means of a reciprocating mass can be balanced by displacing a top dead center between cylinders 13 in a 120 deg. arc. Further, an inertia couple by means of a reciprocating mass can be offset by means of the balance weights 53 and 55. The balance weights 53 and 55 are mounted to a fly wheel 33, having radius larger than that of a crank shaft 23, and a drive gear 41 and situated in a spot away from a cylinder center 19, resulting in reduction of a mass. This constitution enables off setting of the inertia couple as the weight of an engine is decreased.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify an inertia couple, to reduce the number of parts, and to eliminate the primary component of the inertia couple, by a method wherein each of cylinders is half-balanced through superposition of a crank shaft, and a balance weight to offset the primary component of the inertia couple is mounted to a rotary member. CONSTITUTION:An inertia force by a reciprocating mass can be balanced by displacing the top dead center of each of cylinders 11-1, 11-2, and 11-3 in a 120 deg. arc. By mounting a weight 27 in a place on a crank shaft, each of the cylinders 11-1, 11-2, and 11-3 is half-balanced, and the primary component of an inertia coupled generated by means of a remaining synthetic inertial force can be removed by means of balance weights 71 and 73. Since the balance weights 71 and 73 are mounted to a governor holder 57 of an existing tension pulley 45, a conventional balancer shaft is eliminated, and the primary component of the inertia couple can be offset as structure is simplified and the number of parts is reduced.
