摘要： A high-bandwidth multi-band antenna includes a ground plane member, a first patch member extending in generally-parallel spaced relationship with the ground plane member and electrically connected thereto, and a second patch member connectable to a signal feedline and extending generally coplanar with the first patch member within a slot formed in the first patch member. The second patch member is formed integral with a vertical conductive connecting member as part of a folded conducting plate; this construction allows the second patch member to be quickly and accurately positioned relative to the ground plane member before attachement to the ground plane member. The antenna has the advantages of a high bandwidth, simple construction and inexpensive manufacture.

摘要： A multi-band antenna includes an elongated first antenna element 28 and one or more elongated second antenna elements 30 extending in parallel spaced relationship with the first antenna element 28. A dielectric extends between the first antenna element 28 and the one or more further antenna elements 30 for maintaining physical spacing between those antenna elements. A basic form of the invention has first and second antenna elements 28, 30 that are, respectively, helical and linear, and either or both can be formed of either wire or metallic tape. Both antenna elements 28, 30 are preferably capacitively-coupled, with no direct connection. Other configurations are possible, for instance, the addition of a further linear antenna element 30 or further helical antenna element 28, or a further antenna element having linear and helical sections. An advantage of the antenna is that resonant frequency bands can be more closely spaced than previously; a correspondingly greater number of resonant frequency bands is then possible.

摘要： A detachable mast antenna for a vehicle is operable in two mobile telecommunications frequency bands (eg 900 MHz, 1.8 GHz GSM), and also receives longer wavelength transmissions (eg FM, AM, DAB). A first choke 30, formed as a helical coil, delineates the extent of the highest resonant frequency (eg 1800 HMz) radiating region of the antenna. Similarly a second choke 32 delineates the extent of the second highest resonant frequency (eg 900 Mhz) radiating region. The overall length of the conductive path, which includes a metal tape 42 helically wound around a glass fibre rod 40, is one half wavelength of the mid-wavelength of the M band. A steel coil spring 36 provides flexibility. The mast can be unscrewed 12 from a mounting (see figure 1d) which contains two PCBs with circuitry (eg amplifier AGC) to process signals.
