摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low power quantizer for an analog-to-digital converter.SOLUTION: A quantizer 110 includes voltage reference networks 118, 120 and a set of comparators 122 coupled with the voltage reference networks. The voltage reference networks generate a plurality of reference voltages. Each of the comparators receives an input signal 112 and produces a sequence of digital samples. The set of comparators includes a first subset of comparators 136, a second subset of comparators 138 and a third subset of comparators 140. Each comparator of the first subset includes a switched capacitor stage 142, each comparator of the second subset includes a preamplifier stage 150, and each comparator of the third subset includes a switched capacitor stage 158. The first and third subsets of comparators compare the input signal with reference voltages corresponding to upper and lower voltage ranges, and the second subset of comparators compares the input signal with reference voltages corresponding to a middle voltage range.
