摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument capable of extracting only a lower layer liquid from a two liquid phase system separated into an upper layer liquid and the lower layer liquid without causing contamination. SOLUTION: An inner tube 16 is inserted and fixed in an interior of a container body 10 having an opening in a top part and an upper part and a lower part of a centrifugal separation chamber 20 defined between an inner circumferential face of the container body and an outer circumferential face of the inner tube is made to communicate with an extraction chamber 22 in the inside of the inner tube. A piston plug 26 integrated with a sealing lid 24 liquid-tightly closing the opening in the top part of the container body is fitted removably and slidably into the inner tube in such a manner as to make a bottom end reach a vicinity of an inner bottom face of the container body. O-rings 32, 34 for shutting off communication between the upper and lower parts of the centrifugal separation chamber and the extraction chamber when the piston plug is inserted into the inner tube to the deepest position are fitted to the piston plug and a thin hole 36 for allowing communication between an upper space of the centrifugal separation chamber and a space at a piston plug bottom end face side of the extraction chamber when the piston plug is drawn halfway from the inner tube is formed in the piston plug.

EXAMPLE:7-[ 2-( 2-Aminothiazol-4-yl )-2-methylthioiminoacetamido ]-3-cephem-4- carboxylic acid. USE:The compound in which R is expressed by formula II (cephalosporanic acid derivative) is capable of preventing growth of a wide range of pathogenic germs including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and useful as an antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:For example, a compound expressed by formula III is subjected to simultaneous elimination reaction of a carboxy-protecting group R and amino-protecting group R and then reacted with a compound expressed by formula IV to afford the compound expressed by formula I (R is carboxy), which is then reacted with a compound expressed by formula V to provide the compound in which R is expressed by formula II.

Since the specific gravity of the water D is substantially same to that of the supernatant liquid B, the first container 13 storing the supernatant liquid B and the second container 14 storing the water D become substantially same in weight and the second container 14 can be utilized as the balance weight to the first container 13 in the centrifugal separator.

In such a case, the lower surface side of the restricting plug is controlled to fall down to either of left or right when the restricting plug falls off from the lower end part of the inner tube and reaches the inner bottom surface of the vessel body.

Then, the turntable 50 is turned, and ethyl acetate (an organic solvent) or the like is dispensed into the centrifugation tubes which are held by centrifugation-tube holding parts 78 and into which the sample liquids are put. In addition, the centrifugation tubes are shaked by a shaker 194 so as to be centrifuged, they are moved to a separation-liquid suction stage 64, and a sample separation liquid is sucked into a dispo- tip so as to be discharged into test tubes.
