摘要： A compression set sealing element preferably 85A-95A TDI-Ester Polyurethane is compressed axially and retained against extrusion by CEM anti-extrusion rings. The compressed state of the sealing element is locked in by a degradable lock ring assembly. The mandrel is secured to an upper end of a slip cone and a breakable slip ring is secured by a wireline setting tool until the set position is reached. The slip ring breaks into segments that are pulled up the slip cone as the setting tool pushes on a sleeve to axially compress the sealing element and lock in the set. The sealing element is retained against extrusion by CEM anti-extrusion rings. When the setting tool is removed a ball seat is exposed for delivery of a ball to build pressure into the formation for fracturing. The entirety of the plug then disintegrates from well fluid exposure.

摘要： A tool equalizes a packer or bridge plug before it can release the slips and sealing element of the packer or bridge plug with a reconfigurable grip tool. In one configuration the grip tool is latched only into the equalizing mechanism for the packer or bridge plug. Having equalized the pressure and while still latched to the equalization mechanism the tool is reconfigured with a force and locked into a second configuration. From that position the grip tool can latch and move the release mechanism for total release and retrieval to the surface. Release force undermines a ratchet lock for the slips to allow extension as the sealing element extends axially and radially retracts. If the slips fail to release with undermining of the ratchet lock then a set down force can be applied to re-engage the lower slip cone to push it from the lower slips for a release.

摘要： A high expansion plug has multiple sealing elements and an extrusion barrier system that uses overlapping petals in a stack of rings. When setting the plug, the petals are elastically moved toward a surrounding tubular wall in an elastic deformation between a housing that surrounds the mandrel and a tapered ring on the mandrel. That sandwich controls the amount of deformation and allows a potential energy force to be stored in the petals that allows them to return toward their initial position when the set of the plug is released and the seals are allowed to relax and extend axially as they shrink radially. The plug can then be removed without milling. Expansions in the order of 25% of the initial seal dimension are contemplated.

摘要： Wedge shaped elements form a ring structure that can increase in diameter for a grip using relative axial motion of adjacent segments. The adjacent seal is further separated from access to the edges of the adjacent segments that move relatively by ring segments attached to the wide dimension of the segments that face the seal. The ring segments move out with the wedge elements to which they are attached so that in the set position of the seal there is an enhanced barrier against the surrounding tubular with the ring segments. The ring segments further block access of the seal under compressive loading to the interface locations between the wedge shaped elements so that their relative axial movement does not trap a portion of the seal and initiate cracks in the seal that can lead to leakage past the seal.

The cantilever element and ramp element are disposed on the mandrel with an interface angle between the cantilever element and the ramp element, the interface angle being less than 90 degrees, preferably in a range from 40 degrees to 60 degrees, and more preferably at an angle greater than 45 degrees. When an axial load is applied to upper and lower supporting members, cantilever element and ramp element are forced outward and into an inner wall surface of a casing to seal off the casing bore.
