    • A method of crushing a fibrous material consists in repeatedly squeezing the material while passing it between the working surfaces (3, 4) of two crushing elements (1, 2) respectively, each of the crushing elements (1, 2) being made to oscillate in a synchronous and anti-phase manner. A device for crushing a fibrous material comprises two crushing elements (1, 2) with working surfaces (3, 4) respectively, forming a crushing zone (5). The crushing elements (1, 2) are mounted on a support (6) by means of dampers (7) with the possibility of movements in relation to each other. The first crushing element is provided with a driven imbalance. The device comprises a means for its dynamic balancing. The second crushing element (2) is provided with an imbalance (18) in an anti-phase position in relation to the imbalance of the first crushing element (1). The second crushing element (2) together with said imbalance (18) serves as said means for dynamic balancing of the device. In other variants of the device the means for dynamic balancing is the second crushing element (2) of a certain weight, the ratio between the weights of the first (1) and the second (2) crushing elements satisfying the following relation: M+m/M.m m and M is the weight of the second crushing element (2) in kg; m is the weight of the first crushing element (1) in kg; c is the rigidity of the dampers, in kg/sec ; K(0.3...1.0).10 is a coefficient depending on the rotation frequency of the imbalances in sec .
