摘要： A gamma ray imaging detector for nuclear medical imaging includes an array of photodiode detectors provided on opposite surfaces of a scintillating crystal. By measuring the relative distribution of detection signal intensities produced by each photodiode in each array, it becomes possible to measure the depth of interaction of a gamma ray absorption event along the Z axis direction of the crystal in addition to its spatial position in the X-Y plane of the crystal and its absorption energy. The value of the measured depth of interaction is subsequently used in refining the calculation of the spatial location and improving the performance characteristics of the imaging detector.

摘要： An apparatus for identifying the location of a photon source within an imaging area and which generates photons having energies within a known energy range, the apparatus including two oppositely facing cameras disposed on opposite sides of the imaging area, each camera including a first detector unit which causes scattering when a photon enters the unit and generates signals indicative of the scattering event location, energy and time and a second detector unit which absorbs the scattered photon and generates signals indicative of the absorption event energy and time, the generated signals are then mathematically combined to determine the location of the source. Also a Compton camera including a first detector unit which is anatomically configured to generally mirror the external surface of a portion of a patient including an object to be imaged, a second detector unit positioned outside an imaging area to receive scattered photons from the first unit.

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing a dynamic display of the response of a petroleum reservoir to a particular recovery process. The method comprises the steps of developing a mathematical simulation of the response of the formation and forming a visual display of said simulation for each of a plurality of preset time intervals. A predetermined number of frames of movie film are taken of each display in proper time sequence. The frames of the movie film are then projected to produce a dynamic display of the response of the formation.
