    • A photosensitive recording medium having a multiplicity of microcapsules formed on a substrate, and a developer material, each microcapsule having a photosensitive resin and a chromogenic material which reacts with the developer layer to form a colored image spot. The microcapsules comprise a plurality of microcapsule groups which are sensitive to radiations having different wavelength bands, or which are sensitive to different intensities of the radiation. An image recording system is provided with an illuminating device for generating radiations of different wavelengths falling within the wavelength bands of the microcapsule groups, or a radiation of variable intensity. The recording system has a selector for selecting at least one of the radiations of the different wavelengths, or one of the intensity levels of the radiation, in order to adjust the contrast of the images formed on the medium, with respect to non-image areas on the medium.

    • A copying apparatus operable with an original having an image-bearing surface on which images to be reproduced are supported. A radiation reflected by the image bearing surface is focused on a photosensitive paper, by a self-focusing lens array, so that latent images corresponding to the images on the image-bearing surface are formed on the photosensitive paper. The latent images are developed into visible images by a developing device such as a device adapted to apply a pressure to the photosensitive paper. The photosensitive paper may be a self-activated type having a photosensitive material and a developer material which chemically react with each other in the developing process. Alternatively, a separate developer paper having a developer material is superposed on a photosensitive paper having only a photosensitive material. In this case, the photosensitive and developer papers are superposed on each other for development of the latent images due to the chemical reaction between the photosensitive and developer materials. After the development, the two papers are separated from each other by a separating device such as a roller separator.

    • Disclosed is an imaging device wherein a latent image is formed by projecting an optical image on a photo and pressure sensitive recording sheet, on which a plurality of microcapsules enveloping photo-hardenable resins and chromogenic materials therein are coated, and a visible image is developed on a transfer sheet by pressurizing the recording sheet in superposed state with the transfer sheet, the transfer sheet being coated with color-developing agents which react with the chromogenic materials to develop the visible image.The disclosed imaging device comprises an exposing unit for exposing the recording sheet, which is arranged to extend over the entire width of the recording sheet, and a pressing unit for pressing the recording sheet and the transfer sheet in superposed state.
