    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel slide fastener in which one fastener unit is successively superimposed with separate fastener units and in which the plurality of fastener units are formed into a multi-layer structure. SOLUTION: The slide fastener comprises sliders 40 and elements 30 arranged in rows along the edges of the mutually facing opening and closing ends of fastener tapes 20. The element 30 includes: a horizontal function section having a coupling part in one end of the horizontal direction and a fastener tape fixing part in the other end; an upper vertical function section orthogonally crossing the horizontal function section and having an engaging piece with a coupling part extended upward; and a lower vertical function section having an engaging/receiving piece with a fastener tape fixing part extended downward. The slide fastener is characterized in that it has a plurality of fastener units formed into a multi-layer structure by preparing a plurality of formed fastener units, by engaging the engaging part of the first fastener unit with the engaging/receiving part of the second fastener unit, and then by successively engaging the engaging/receiving part of a new fastener unit with the engaging part of the preceding fastener unit.
