摘要： A recording tape cartridge capable of keeping position error signals during running of a recording tape small. A recording tape cartridge is provided with a reel hub, a magnetic tape that is wound round the reel hub, and a lower flange and upper flange that are disposed to oppose one another at each of the both axial direction ends of the reel hub. In a state in which the magnetic tape is completely wound on the reel hub, the magnetic tape is offset toward the upper flange. A space of an edge clearance between a lower end of an outermost periphery portion of the magnetic tape and the lower flange is at least 0.18 mm and at most 0.46 mm. A rate of widening of a facing distance between the lower flange and the upper flange increases toward the outer periphery side.

摘要： A leader pin is fabricated by die-casting, is attached to a free-end portion of a recording tape, and is drawn out through an opening formed in a case. A plate spring retains axial direction both end portions of the leader pin such that the leader pin does not fall from inside the case. When the leader pin is being mounted at or removed from the case, the plate spring is pushed by the end portions and resiliently deforms, and allows the mounting or removal operation of the leader pin. A flat surface portion is formed at the leader pin so as to remove parting line portion of the leader pin. The leader pin is attached to the free-end portion at an angle relative to a tension direction of the free-end portion, such that the flat surface portions formed at the end portions do not contact with the plate spring.

Projecting portions are formed on the holding portions and overlap the flange portions on inner surface sides of the flange portions. Through holes are formed in the upper case and the lower case, whereby undercut portions are not present in the projecting portions. The case of the recording tape cartridge can be molded without complicating the configuration of the mold.

In a recording tape cartridge 10 in which a reel 20, at which an upper flange 24 is welded to a hub 22, is singly and rotatably accommodated within a case 12, a locking member 70 is configured to be able to rotate within a plane orthogonal to a rotation axis direction of the reel 20 around a position which is different from a rotational center of the reel 20. The locking member 70 is set at a locking position, at which the locking member 70 is interposed on an extended line of the hub 22 in the rotation axis direction at a side where the upper flange 24 is welded and the locking member 70 impedes movement of the reel 20 in the rotation axis direction, and an unlocking position, at which the locking member 70 is withdrawn from the extended line of the hub 22 in the rotation axis direction at the side where the upper flange 24 is welded and the locking member 70 permits movement of the reel 20 in the rotation axis direction.
