摘要： Novel mono- and multi-functional non-ionic urethane monomers are prepared from surfactants comprising poly(ethylene oxide)(butylene oxide) copolymers, preferably C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy-terminated, monohydric, ethylene oxide/butylene oxide block polymers and monoethylenically unsaturated aliphatic isocyanates. 摘要： A thickened aqueous fabric softener composition comprising at least one surfactant and a polymeric rheology modifier, wherein said polymeric rheology modifier is the polymerization product of (i) an alkyl ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; (ii) a monomer selected from the group consisting of a vinyl-substituted heterocyclic compound containing at least one nitrogen or sulfur atom, (meth)acrylamide, a mono- or di-alkylamino alkyl(meth)acrylate, and a mono or di-alkylamino alkyl(meth)acrylamide; and (iii) an associative monomer. The polymeric rheology modifier does not require a make down step to slurry or disperse it into a fabric softener composition. The thickened fabric softener compositions do not affect rewettability, nor do they build up on cloth in multi-cycle washing. In addition, the thickened fabric softener compositions provide softening and reduce the formation of wrinkles.

摘要： Methods for reducing volatile organic chemical contents of carpet are disclosed which include fabricating the carpet from a plurality of yarn loops or tufts inserted into the backing of the carpet and then coating the backing with a coating composition which contain polymers characterized by an extremely low volatile organic chemical content. Accordingly, the coating compositions themselves contain reduced levels of volatile organic chemicals and, as such, the carpets coated therewith also contain reduced amounts of volatile organic chemicals.

摘要： A hydrophobe-containing alkali soluble or swellable copolymer thickener comprising an emulsion polymerization product of (A) an ethylenically unsaturated copolymerizable surfactant monomer having a cloud point of from about 65° C. to about 95° C., wherein the surfactant monomer has the formula M(EO)x(BO)zOR1 wherein M is a residue selected from the group consisting of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, EO is an ethylene oxide unit; BO is a butylene oxide unit; x is from 10 to 45; z is from 5 to 35; provided that x+z is from 20 to 45; and R1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkylene, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylene, and arylalkyl group wherein the alkyl group has 1 to 4 carbon atoms; (B) an &agr;,&bgr;-ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid monomer; and (C) a nonionic &agr;,&bgr;-ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The copolymer provides aqueous compositions with constant or increased viscosity at temperatures approaching 120° C.
