    • A monitoring device for use in a passenger conveyor system includes an indicator operable to indicate a need for a maintenance action in response to a control signal. Operation of the indicator relies on an electronic memory device. The electronic memory device is included in a separate component of the passenger conveyor system. A method for installing the monitoring device includes: (1) providing the monitoring device; (2) mounting the mounting device at a position within the passenger conveyor system such that the mounting device is easily accessible to a user; and (3) connecting the monitoring device to the separate component of the passenger conveyor system to permit communication there between.

    • A system and method for monitoring a first wire rope and a second wire rope is provided. The first and second wire ropes each include a contact portion that contacts a sheave, a first end portion, and a monitored portion that extends between the contact portion and the first end portion. The sheave electrically connects the contact portions of the first and second wire ropes. The system includes a controller that is electrically connected to each of the first and second wire ropes to form a circuit with the monitored portions of the first and second wire ropes. The controller selectively applies a signal to the monitored portions of the first and second wire ropes and determines an electrical characteristic thereof. The controller uses the determined electrical characteristic to determine a condition of the first and second wire ropes.

    • According to an aspect of the present invention, a packaging system for glass scoring wheels having different physical attribute configurations is provided that includes a plurality of containers and a plurality of caddies. Each caddy includes a wheel mount shaft extending from a base. The wheel mount shaft has an axial length that permits a plurality of glass scoring wheels to be mounted on the mount shaft. The base is adapted to mate with an open end of the container. The caddies include "n" number of different color configuration caddies. The color configuration of each of the "n" different color configuration caddies is different than the color configuration of the other of the "n" different color configuration caddies. Each of the "n" color configurations identifies a particular physical attribute of the glass scoring wheels, which attribute is operable to distinguish glass scoring wheels having different physical attributes.

    • A method and system for in situ calibrating a flow metering system to monitor fluid flow in a pipe from a well is provided. The method includes the steps of: a) measuring a first characteristic of the fluid flow exiting the well using a DP flow meter during a dry gas period, and producing an first output data representative of the first characteristic; b) measuring a second characteristic of the fluid flow exiting the well using a SONAR flow meter time during the dry gas period, and producing a second output data representative of the second characteristic; c) determining a dry gas offset between the DP flow meter and the SONAR flow meter based on the first output data and the second output data; and d) calibrating the flow metering system using the dry gas offset.
