Provided are a DFT-spread OFDM transmitter and transmission method, and a DFT-spread OFDM receiver and reception method which can receive signals transmitted thereby. The DFT-spread OFDM transmitter comprises: a constellation rotation unit in which a constellation rotation angle and a frequency domain spectrum shaping vector are designed so that a PAPR can be easily traded off with frequency efficiency even without inter-symbol interference, and which constellation-rotates a symbol vector including M PAM symbols by a constellation rotation angle to generate a constellation-rotated symbol vector; a pruned DFT-spread unit which uses a pruned DFT matrix to spread the constellation-rotated symbol vector, thereby generating a pruned DFT-spread vector; a frequency domain spectrum shaping unit which Hadamard-multiplies the pruned DFT-spread vector by a shaping vector, thereby generating a frequency domain spectrum-shaped vector; and a subcarrier allocation unit which allocates the frequency domain spectrum-shaped vector to a subcarrier in an allocated frequency range.
