A process for preparing a compound A having n groups of formula (I) is provided, wherein X is C2-C12-alkylene or C2-C12-alkylene substituted with C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-alkylthio and/or interrupted with O or S; R1, R2 and R3 are independently of one another hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl; n is an integer of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6; 0 the process comprising a step of reacting a compound B having n -SH groups with a compound C of formula (II) in the presence of a free radical generator.
