The present invention relates to a shoe care device and method. To this end, a shoe care device according to the present invention may comprise: a sensor unit including at least one sensor; a motor unit for controlling the swinging of at least one shelf; and a processor electrically connected to the sensor unit and the motor unit. In addition, the processor can identify the approach of a user by using the at least one sensor, and generate, on the basis of the identified approach of the user, a control signal for adjusting the swing speed of the at least one shelf. Moreover, the processor transmits the generated control signal to the motor unit to adjust the swing speed of the at least one shelf. Therefore, the present invention can prevent failure of the shoe care device and reduce waiting time for the user to remove the shoes.
