陽極（３）と、陰極（４）と、第一の発光層（５１）と、第一の発光層（５１）と陰極（４）との間に配置された第二の発光層（５２）と、を有し、第一の発光層（５１）は、下記一般式（１１）で表される基を少なくとも１つ有し、かつ下記一般式（１）で表される第一の化合物を第一のホスト材料として含有し、第二の発光層（５２）は、下記一般式（２）で表される第二の化合物を第二のホスト材料として含有し、第一の発光層（５１）と第二の発光層（５２）とが、直接、接している、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子（１）。Ｌ１０１は、単結合、又は置換もしくは無置換の環形成炭素数６～５０のアリーレン基であり、Ａｒ１０１は、置換もしくは無置換の環形成炭素数６～５０のアリール基であり、ｍｘは、０、１、２、３、４又は５である。

This organic electroluminescence element (1) includes a positive electrode (3), a negative electrode (4), a first light emitting layer (51), and a second light emitting layer (52) disposed between the first light emitting layer (51) and the negative electrode (4), wherein: the first light emitting layer (51) has at least one group represented by general formula (11) and contains a first compound represented by general formula (1) as a first host material; the second light emitting layer (52) contains a second compound represented by general formula (2) as a second host material; and the first light emitting layer (51) is in direct contact with the second light emitting layer (52). L101 is a single-bonded, substituted, or unsubstituted arylene group having 6-50 ring-forming carbon atoms, Ar101 is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6-50 ring-forming carbon atoms, and mx is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
