The invention relates to spacers (I) for insulating glass units, at least comprising a composite assembly formed from a polymer main body (1) and an insulation film (7). The polymer main body (1) comprises: a first side wall (2.1) and a second side wall (2.2) arranged parallel thereto; a glazing interior wall (3), which connects the side walls (2.1, 2.2) to one another; an outer wall (4), which is arranged substantially parallel to the glazing interior wall (3) and which connects the side walls (2.1, 2.2) to one another directly or via connection walls (6.1, 6.2); and a hollow chamber (5), which is enclosed by the side walls (2.1, 2.2), the glazing interior wall (3) and the outer wall (4), or by the side walls (2.1, 2.2), the glazing interior wall (3), the outer wall (4), and the connecting walls (6.1, 6.2). The insulation film (7) is applied at least on the outer wall (4) and at least in part on the side walls (2.1, 2.2) or at least on the outer wall (4), the connecting walls (6.1, 6.2) and at least in some sections on the side walls (2.1, 2.2) of the polymer main body (1) and comprises at least one foamed polymer layer (8) and at least one barrier layer (9).
