The present invention discloses a beverage distribution system, in particular a system for preparing espresso coffee and similar aromatic beverages, comprising a drinking vessel (1, 1'), for example of the glass or cup type, or similar, a beverage discharge arrangement (2) operatively associated with a beverage preparation device (3), said beverage discharge arrangement (2) being designed so that the beverage discharge flow impinges, in a direction opposite to the force of gravity and with a given flow pressure, on flow regulation means (13) in the drinking vessel (1, 1'), wherein said drinking vessel (1, 1') has vessel retention means (17) designed so that said drinking vessels (1, 1') can only be placed on the vessel placement support (22) in one or two predetermined angular extensions in relation to the beverage discharge arrangement (2).
