Process and unit for the continuous preparation of a coagulum of elastomer and filler, said process comprising the following steps: a) providing at least one elastomer latex, b) preparing an aqueous dispersion of filler by mixing a filler in dry form and an aqueous fluid in a system (4) comprising a continuously rotatable part, said system (4) is chosen from a pre-grinder (41), a grinder (42) and a tank (43) comprising a continuously rotatable part, a pump and a loop for recirculation, and, if need be, passage of the dispersion resulting therefrom into one or more grinders (8) each comprising a rotor/stator system, c) bringing into contact, in a mixing zone (13) of a coagulation reactor, the aqueous dispersion of filler obtained in step b) and said elastomer latex from step a), characterized in that the filler is dispersed in the aqueous fluid, and the particle size of said filler is reduced, solely by means of the system (4) comprising a continuously rotatable part and, if need be, grinder(s) (8).
