Disclosed in various embodiments of the present invention is an electronic device for sensing the direction of a touch input, the electronic device comprising: a housing including a first surface, a second surface facing the direction opposite the first surface, and a side surface for encompassing a structure between the first surface and the second surface; a touch screen display exposed through the first surface; a pressure sensor located between the first surface and the second surface; a processor electrically connected to the touch screen display and the pressure sensor; and a memory electrically connected to the processor, wherein the memory can store instructions for allowing, during the execution thereof, the processor to display a picture on the touch screen display, sense a first position related to a touch on the first surface by using the touch screen display, sense a second position related to a pressure change due to the pressure applied to the first surface and/or the second surface by using the pressure sensor, and determine whether the pressure has been applied to the first surface and/or the second surface on the basis of the sensed first position and second position.
