摘要（英）：
A system and method for controlling and driving a gangway. The driving system comprises a power motor (1), an operating valve (3) for controlling forward or reverse rotation of the power motor (1), and a control valve (4) provided on a control and drive loop between the operating valve (3) and the power motor (1). A gangway (2) presses the valve rod (41) of the control valve (4) when being put back in place, and the control and drive loop is cut off, so that the power motor (1) immediately stops working so as to prevent damage to a cable or the gangway (2) caused by continuous rotation of the power motor (1).
