A method and an apparatus are disclosed for forming aluminium screw capsules with a safety ring made of plastics for tamperproof closing of containers, in which an aluminium capsule body (2) is inserted into a moulding cavity (12) of a mould conformed and arranged for the overmoulding of a safety ring (5) on an edge of an annular wall (4) of the capsule body, and in which an annular sealing zone (18) is defined for the plastic material between a first surface (19) of the capsule body and a first portion (10) of mould inserted into the central cavity of the capsule body, forming a safety ring anchored stably and strongly to the capsule body.
